Rug Kara II

SKU: 307

The small Kara tribe lives on the banks of the Omo River in southern Ethiopia. They paint their bodies in preparation for ceremonies, using chalk with yellow stone, red iron ore and charcoal, combined with the distinctive colorful layers of round necklaces that cover their entire neck and chest. The KARA round rug represents these overlapping threads with many beads, creating a circular spreading pattern, made of hand-tufted tencel.
